I found these adorable matt silver pram charms and the first thing I thought of why they didn't come earlier and of course my two girlfriends - Ms Cloud and Ms L who shall henceforth be Cloud Mummy and L Mummy (no prizes for guessing that they are preggers and about to pop!) So anyway, back to the necklace. I made the necklace with a butterfly crystal that's not fixed, it will travel up and down the chain and Swarovski has birthstone colors for the 12 months of the year so the crystal in the middle is the mummy's birthmonth crystal and the one at the end is the daddy's birthmonth crystal. The smaller crystal represents baby :) I'm not sure if the babies of both mummies might want to pop out earlier or not but I send my loving wishes with them :)

I had a long post saved up explaining my absence but as the days turned into weeks and the weeks into months, it no longer seemed apt. Lots of up and lots of downs this past year, overcoming my own insecurities but I shall not be a damper and talk about it here :D This blog is all about my jewellery escapades afterall. I have definitely been creating but this year has been a year of exploration for me in a way, playing around with different materials and still trying to improve on my photography skills. Still learning and still strapped for time but still the happy-go-lucky me :D So let's get started with my showcase :) Except for the next photo, in random order just because.

Custom order, a present for a friend's colleague's going away present. Grey mother of pearl rectangles and discs necklace with swarovski pearls and crystals. I designed this for the office and casual gatherings. My photography skills suck but it was this photo that got me determined to try and improve. Hopefully I have *grins*

A pretty brooch. Birthday present for a good friend. First effort in making one. Pleased with how sweet it looks. Will definitely try again.

Keys to my heart series - Will be for sale soon. I think a little bit more tweaking for 2 designs before I release.

Dyed agate pendants, playing around with them. For a BFF who is very accepting of me and my insecurites :) Can be a pendant, can be a necklace and also made a matching bracelet that can be attached to the necklace so that it becomes a double necklace. None of the pendants are exactly the same so I have a hard time deciding which ones to use. Will start sharing them soon.

Bracelets! Paired here with my Je'adore bracelets which I ended up keeping. The privileges of being the creator :D

I have a thing about multi-functional jewellery. I love jewellery that you can wear and use everywhere. These can be used as bracelets, anklets and bag charms. Will be released but I'm still tweaking though ;)

Ang Pao Box. For my BIL's wedding. I wish I had the opportunity to do this for my own wedding. Its too pretty to dismantle. The cage is supposed to be for me to use to display my jewellery. Maybe I should rent it out? :D

I love this necklace a lot. This is the one necklace that tested my brain on how to show it off and made me wonder if I should just buy a mannequin. Wonder if my another one of my BFFs has lost it yet? LOL. Unfortunately she's my lovable klutz. Will release this for sale after tweaking.

Earrings as a birthday present. I was going for glam and its different from my usual designs. Using my secret stash of cubic zirconia, swarovski links and facetted pink briolettes. Fun! Will try to do more glamorous ones as I've had a couple of requests :)

Also tried my hands with making hairbands then lots of hairclips and now just started making rubberbands. Been practising my skills, been wishing I have bangs :P

Felt flower brooches. Had lots of fun creating these. May try to get my hands on more felt colors. For now, will probably only accept custom orders as I cut and sew everything by hand.

Phew, unexpectedly such a long post but so glad I got it done. Will be trying to update some of my old entries as I am thinking I should remove some of my older designs. Umm, no promises as to when the next post will be but thanks for your interest :D

Sorry I've gone missing for a while!!! I've so much on my plate :( Been working hard on my project documentation and about to be driven mad by all the changes :( Seriously impacting my prettymagpie plans :( Going to still try and go through my list though its looking impossible to carry all of them out now. Will still try though. Cross fingers.

As promised, I have been working on a few more new items but I have not had time to really get them all done yet!!! Here are some sneaks to show that I have not forgotten my love! :D Just previews for now!!! Trying to do more and roll them out soon :D

Cufflinks! Testing these really bling ones and going to put some of my pretty cabochons on them as well ;) Guys can use them too but I'm trying to make cufflinks for girls ;) We don't have enough pretty ones as it is :D Will be great as Christmas pressies :D

Hearts of Fire - Using my 18K ear hooks, so named because the swarovski heart crystals that I'm using are very very bling :D Not the usual clear ones but very reflective and shiny. Pretty!

Lady Lavender - An ode to my favourite K-drama You're Beautiful ;) I'm very happy with this piece, probably going to keep one for myself though I seldom wear bracelets nowadays :D Made of these really pretty purple coloured mother of pearls discs and pale lavender colored amethysts that I found! Spy that pretty lucite rose and the pretty heart shaped toggle ;) I Heart!!!

That's all I'm able to show now!!! :D I still have some WIPs that I'll try to squeeze out some time to work on them really soon. Check back next week! Or maybe safer, the week after? Hee hee!

Super rushed job

My very tough job - a request for a ring pillow, ang pao box and feather pens in just under a week. My dear friend came back from Hong Kong for her wedding to be held in Singapore but couldn't find anything she liked in HK. She was still working just weeks before her wedding and in fact only found her wedding gowns just 2 weeks from the wedding date when she was home for a holiday in SG!!! She was too late to even place a custom order at LovelyLacey which I suggested to her. Long story short, I didn't want to stress her but I myself was super stressed because I was only told to go with a color scheme of red, no bears or anything too cutesy. I wanted to do a good job but this was my first time doing a ring pillow and feather pens!!! I didn't even do that for my own wedding LOL

I think I did pretty good for such a rushed job :) The bride was happy though I really wish I had been given more time for a better quality job, I tried to match everything as much as possible to come up with a scheme but I could only make do with whatever supplies I had with me :) I even painted the wooden letters and sprinkled glitter for a bit of glam! She was blessed because I managed to scrounge out two letter Js for her at Spotlight! The heart shape was really found in pure LUCK!!!! Most other letters were sold out, I couldn't spell anything even if I wanted to :D She was also lucky I had a bag of feathers which I had to dig through to find matching shapes so that the pen heights would match! White maribou feathers were sold out at Spotlight too but luckily I could find matches in my existing bag.

It didn't help that I was busy with work in between and delivering orders and in fact I didn't take photos until at the wedding itself and I even forgot to take a photo of the ring pillow which I was pretty proud of :D

Seriously though... I love my friends BUT I don't think I ever want to deal with that level of stress anymore :PPP

Am trying to work on a new collection whenever I can, would like to release them all in July but my schedule is now taken up with work so trying to go along with the request to post little surprises whenever I can instead of making everyone wait. *blush*

So I am trying to finish up some of the pieces that I started way back and this was originally a design that I wanted to make as earrings. My earrings design is called Cascade which I am still fine-tuning because I do not have all the sizes and bits I want. Not perfect yet :P (That will probably be released in Nov just before Christmas as part of Glam range once I have the time heh heh)

I "upsized" the design and created a lovely toggle necklace instead.

Mine, mine, mine :D

She's my celebrations necklace since I'll be wearing her with the two dresses that I've recently bought to attend all the wedding events. No guesses that the dresses are white and blue in color, I added bits of grey for contrast and to go with any grey dresses if I have any in the future :D

Celebrations is a silver plated toggle necklace made with the new special effects top drilled swarovski crystals I recently got, lots of swarovski pearls and bicones all from 8mm to 3mm sizes. Added one of my limited quantity imported frosted white lucite flowers and added the blue swarovski crystal to the middle. Shake her and the colors will differ slightly depending on how the crystals and pearls lie. The
difference is because I used quite a number of different crystals and they need to be hung just so for that perfect shape.

Celebrations will be custom made with the color range that you want and I will only create after confirming date of delivery and the colors. Length of necklace will also be customised. Approximately takes a week if I do not have all the crystal or pearl colors needed. Cost for this exact piece will be $45 onwards because of the special effect top drilled color crystals I used. There will be different pricing if you would like different findings like sterling silver or gold plating.

Ok, I've been naughty...

I've bought lots of new supplies online and when I went to get some bits and pieces yesterday I ended up buying lots of swarovski crystals and new findings but unfortunately this has again made a big BIG dent in my pocket :P (I hope my husband is not reading this :P)

I am now banning myself from supply hunting for a bit to rest up from all the big purchases I had. Hopefully you have noticed that my photos are a lot sharper in details now as I've actually gotten a spanking new camera hee hee :D I'm still working on lighting which is still iffy but seems like I get the best look in the mornings else late afternoon which is limited to a few hours :(

So anyway, I'm just posting these two pics, the rest will be a surprise when I get time to roll out my new designs:

Pretty findings! Lovely 14K and 18K plated earring hooks that I'm keeping exclusive for my glam collection!!! Sterling silver necklace clasps and connectors too! :D

I've also finally finished all my custom orders but will probably need to rest up as well because I have two lovely weddings to attend in July and I just got off my weekly concall with my boss telling me that my project at work really requires my focus until November! **Wail!** BUT I will always make time for custom orders just won't be posting new designs as often as I like.

I will still be working on my mini projects in the meantime though. I do want to revamp this website a little, am thinking I will archive some of my older designs as I am ploughing all my profits and more into my supplies and bits and am happier that I am now able to create more elaborate and interesting designs. I am glad to report that I have now built up a bit of a collection though I still have a long way to go.

Also I was recently reminded that my blogshop will be one year old soon!!! So I am now planning a slew of activities that I am not sure if I will be able to pull off but I will still try! Will announce when things firm up ;)

One of which is that some recent offline sales have received very pretty gift tags that I ordered special from the US that I will start to offer as a gift packaging at a standard rate. I will still not provide packaging or boxes so that I can keep costs down for you. Everything will only come with a ziplock baggy and well bubble packed if its through the mail. I know the trauma of not receiving the items I ordered and when things get damaged so I'm very particular myself. Also thinking of having a flea market stall or to get an InQ box to really start ramping up publicity but still scoping out logistics for that and unfortunately time is not in my favour at the moment :D

Just showing it off :D Like Flair but this time with different pendant crystals for a gypsy look. Its very sparkly and very bling. Versatility, shine and the pretty Chrysolite AB octagon crystals were my markers for this design.

Introducing Tasha. Simple cream colored lucite roses with peridot chips which I have wirewrapped to twisted silver plated hoops, a collar of ecru glass pearls that I've attached to swing prettily and a pinkish/purplish blue smooth flat pear shaped opal bead. Tasha is also dressed up in a pistachio green and a milky pink. Delicate and oh so lady-like :D I chose rhodium earring hooks that has a tiny crystal for a little unexpected sparkle. Total length of earrings including the hook is 4cm.

Been catching a Korean drama series called You're Beautiful. I was late in watching the show on cable because I thought the storyline was similar to Coffee Prince but boy was I wrong! I got so caught up in the series and I'm so having a crush on the actor Jang Geun Suk and HAIRBANDS!!! I know that hairbands have been back in fashion since Gossip Girls but I was never taken with the look until recently! There's this feather hairband look that I really think is SO cute on Ko Minam in the show and a simple but glitzy one on Uhee but I shall squeal about those in another post once I manage to squeeze out the time to do my versions :D

So actually I'm quite taken with the accessories the lead characters wear and because of my outstanding custom order, I actually carried that inspiration into this hopefully interesting collection. I wanted to make these urban, androgynous, chic, strong but yet simple and wearable for work. Definitely different from my usual sweet sweet style and all for Ms D to choose :D I still have some ideas floating around but work duty calls so I'm really not sure when I can get the time. Unfortunately I don't want to make any promises but I'm definitely still working on my guilty pleasure when I can. I think my styling can be improved so do bear with me while I work on my skills in all areas XD

No remakes on all necklaces as these are custom made designs for Ms D. She has dibs so I will only sell what she does not select :)

Hey there, the year is flying by and today's the last day of MAY!!!

Tomorrow will be 1st June and it feels like everything has been rather surreal with the days literally melting into each other these days. Seems like I'm hitting a dry spell and been a little anti-social because lots happening offline. Been trying to declutter to create a sort of a workspace / studio in my studyroom to be more productive but feels as if I've created more of a mess *blush*

Photos taking a while because I'm still learning how to use my new camera :(
Also need to backup everything on my computer and upgrade to Windows 7 on my computer, sigh :P Trying to come up with a logo and some packaging for presents that are gifts, yay! :D Woah my list is growing... I'm not going to list them all here but umm... yup I'm being reminded that I've gotta pick myself up though because I'm running out of time :D

Note to self :
Don't sweat over everything when things don't go smoothly! Smile! Even if you feel like crying because you're alive and placed on this Earth for a reason. To shine your own brightest. Have patience with people even if you're running out! But don't be a washcloth and be stepped on. Just remember life's tooo short not to tell someone you love them! Appreciate yourself even if others do not so tell yourself you love "you" too!

Birdcage pendant - (Sold Out)

This design is so similar in style to my gilded cages earrings but yet very different as well. This is an antiqued silver plated pendant that I have embellished with my new finds - small but pretty pastel colored lucite flowers. I'm still looking to see if I can find a nice silver based chain or else this will go onto a cream or black grosgrain ribbon for a vintage look. Pendant is actually about 2.5" in height, 1.5" in width, a lot larger than my usual pendants but very nicely detailed which is why I still couldn't resist and got it in the end. Only one piece available as there was only 2 pieces left and I will be keeping the other piece to myself :D

Its such a nice feeling that within hours of posting, both pendants have been reserved and now none left for myself :P BUT I am more than happy to have my designs going to lovely ladies who like my humble creations :D

I have two custom orders that I'm currently working. One from Ms. R and the other from Ms D :D Unfortunately, I haven't gotten the right look for them yet though :( Going to try supply hunting again today or tomorrow to get the right pieces. Cross fingers that I can find so that I can complete their orders soon :D Thank goodness, they are giving me lots of freedom to try so I would like to be a little more daring with materials to be used :D

My supply hunting on Friday was fun. I ventured to Chinatown and came back with lots of goodies but still not everything that I am looking for. Also my hunt for new supplies these days have taken me to US online supplies stores as well as Southbridge road to Chinatown and Arab Street :P Quite an adventure going to new unfamiliar places but also frustrating because I still have not found all the bits of what I am looking for and it also now means if I need more of something, I have to travel from one corner to another. I now have a few favorite supplies shop but aiyo, they are all over Singapore :P

One of the bits that I was trying to find are Grosgrain ribbons and hairclips! Friday finally yielded the clips I was hunting high and low for so long!!! I was finally able to make these hairclips for my friend's daughter just in time for the first month celebration though, she won't be able to wear them yet as they are rather big in size now, I'm happy with my first attempts though -

Ashley's Mummy suggested I go into business making these as well so I'm a little tempted but mostly because they are so cute and fun to make. My first love is still jewellery though. Hmm... oops, more decisions :P

I've also embellished my plain fake leather covered notebooks for fun :D

I've got great friends :D

Got my hands on not just 1 but 2 cameras to take decent photos of my jewellery now and though I'm still learning about photography techniques that are used to take good product photos, having a camera that works is a BIG difference to a shutterbug like me. Ms Cloud's Casio camera which is so similar to mine is so easy to pick up again but testing out my colleague's Canon G10 is making me determined to get a Canon despite the price. I'm not very keen on the newer Canon G11 which is bulkier with its added width for a flippable screen that I'm not understanding yet :P I guess its good if I'm taking those self photos that I really like to take with friends but coz I'll probably leave the camera at home most of the time I'm tempted to just get the G10 secondhand or something :D

Hmmm, decisions decisions... :P

Not the famous Hearts and Arrows cut of a diamond, just sparkly Swarovski crystal hearts and silver mesh ribbons on sterling silver 925 earring posts. Great for everyday wear and one of the last decent macro photos I got out of my camera before it went on strike. I love these special duo-tone swarovski heart crystals, the pink has blue/grey tones, the purple has white/grreen/blue and the grey has flashes of green/yellow tones. All really very pretty, all so wearable :D

These are the laser cut matt silver puffy discs earrings that I gave to my friend in San Fran :D Pretty aren't they? They are 3-D in effect and the details are very fine. Pricy too but I'm glad to report that my friend loves them and has been receiving lots of compliments :D I have only a few pairs left so email me before they are all gone. I have one pair in matt gold but that's mine for the moment till I can get my hands on more :D

Looks like I spoke too soon. I'm having serious problems with the zoom on my camera. I thought at first it had to do with some settings or because I just came back from the US but after a number of tries to take some closeup of my jewellery and numerous troubleshooting attempts, I may have to throw in the towel and get a new camera. Which may not be anytime too soon because I need to do some research first. Looks like I may just invest and get my very first DSLR which I have been thinking about for the longest time and another point and shoot camera. Ouch :P

Been writing a lot of documentation for work so along the same mode I have been creating and doing some designs which I know I will create many versions of. Was away in San Francisco for about a week for work. Had an opportunity to meet up with old friends and spent 4days shopping and eating! Reality started after the fabulous time and back to work I had to go and now I'm super duper swamped :9 I'm trying to put up some designs that I have been doing on and off through the time away though no time to consolidate and I feel awful for that. Trying to spare time to hone my photography skills because there's no point in getting really expensive equipment if my skills are not up to par :P

First off! Don't mean to go missing but am mind-boggling busy with work at the moment because of a few deadlines. I may have to go on an unexpected work trip at the end of this month so I have had to leave my creativity and to focus my energies at work. Trust me, it has not been easy to leave my pliers and beads alone :( I bought some nice Vintaj brass findings recently and wanted to expand on my necklace and earring designs but the deadlines looming over my head has not been conducive so into my drawers out of sight they have to go but will go back to them really soon. A special request which came in perfect timing because I had been waiting for new colors for a while. I do like making new stuff :D Though these are not Swarovski crystals, the lovely cheery red crystals can been perfect for Chinese New Year or Valentine's Day. With gold plated findings and ear hooks.

As with all plated items, please do avoid contact with perspiration or perfume and keep jewellery dry and clean. A quick wipe of the crystals after wearing with a soft cloth will bring back any shine.

Hello! Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day is around the corner and I'm running out of time to create! I set this on a longer 20inch chain and made it such that the angel wing is fixed on the left side with a fresh water pearl but the locket and the bell flower is able to move freely. I like the "freedom" this evokes and may do more like this :D I really like the detailing on the brass locket and hope you are as charmed by this piece as I am :D

I started to make a little more brass jewellery and have imported some very cute brass charms. Starting to experiment and here's a simple but really cute necklace to start the ball rolling.

My Carousel is a finely detailed brass pendant that I have matched with a swarovski pearl and a pink czech glass baby bell flower. Brass chain is 17 inches long with a lobster claw catch. Carousel pendant is less than 1 inch tall. Its really lovely, adorable and sweet.

Je'adore is french for I adore and I really adore these pretty silver plated bangles that I have embellished with swarovski crystals and pearls, czech glass bell flowers and briolettes, silver and pewter charms.

No remakes at all for these as again I can't get my hands on the same bangles but will keep an eye out in case I come across more. The bangles are linked in 3s so you must wear them together unlike my something blue bangles I am most tempted to keep these to myself but really should share my treasures :D

No, the earrings don't remind me of milk.

The name comes about because I have a pair of Aquamarine facetted crystal earrings that are simpler than my Fireball and Iceball earrings that I have had lots of compliments when I wear them. See photo below :)

I finally managed to find simple rondelle crystals just to meet the requests :D These are not made with Swarovski crystals (which will be a different price and more reflective) but I like the fun candy colors and instead of 24 crystals, you get 16! This piece is a little difficult to describe because the beauty is in the way it moves. I tried to zoom in to show off how sweet the colors are but I don't think I did a good job :P Delicate is what this earring looks like but don't be fooled. It moves ever so elegantly with the different lengths of 14k gold plated chain. In a way very much like a dancer in a ballet with the way the chains sways and Swarovski rivoli circle discs rotates. I used very simple 14k plated hooks that I'm beginning to like very much. You won't regret getting this piece and I have made some custom orders already with Aquamarine, Pink and Light Purple rivoli discs as well. Total length of the earrings is about 2.5inches or almost 7cm.

Happy New Year!!!

I can't stay away :P I have been keeping busy and I've been having fun even though I am so swamped at work. My dark circles are not thanking me but I can't resist :D I have been building up a glamourous range which unfortunately costs more but I think look oh so pretty that I can't wait to share. We have Drops which is a very simple and elegant plated white gold hook earring which has a gorgeous CRYSTALLIZED™- Swarovski Elements Crystal Pear-shaped crystal. I bought the prettiest colors that will match almost anything a woman could wear :D

Crystal Aurora Borealis
Ms B made a great choice getting this as the color is really very sparkly. I already miss it so if I do get enough wishes for this, I'll go get more of the crystal and keep one for myself this time! It shines blue at some angles and a lovely yellow orange at others! See the difference in color in the photos :)

Crystal Golden Shadow
My next favourite color, this crystal is a lovely golden tone with flashes of a pale golden color when it catches the light. I'm already itching to do more designs with this pretty color of crystal :D

Crystal Copper
I rather call this color Caramel!
A rich golden brown tone with flashes of red at the edges and a lovely goldy orange sparkle. Yummy like caramel!

I'm glad the photos came out pretty ok, I prefer to use natural light which I know is not as bright but I don't like the harshness of camera flashes :D So imagine how much more sparkly these crystals will be in the right light :)

I'm not very good when it comes to naming my pieces :P This is an inspired piece and similar to BonBon.

Cherry Blossoms is a pretty carved czech glass flower in a blackcurrant color that I tried pairing with frosted leaves that swing but I couldn't get the look right somehow. I'll try again so let's see if I can perfect the design soon :) Cherry Blossoms is bigger than BonBon, about 1.5cm in diameter.

They are 2.2cm in diameter and hand-glued to rhodium studs. They are really gorgeous BUT iPhone users beware, they do get in your way when you are trying to pick up a call but they are so pretty, you might just want to use the speaker phone functionality instead ;) Also limited at this moment. I thought I saw something like these Japanese ribbon ear studs on a girl walking past and I wanted them! I almost snapped my head but it was just a 5 second look. I did some hunting and I'm so glad that I actually found some simple Japanese craft ribbons and made my own ear studs instead! :)

I like them and because this is a trial batch, I'm letting them off at an intro price! Get a pair while I still have them :D I'm definitely keeping a pair to myself :D

I bought these silver and gold plated hoops without any idea of what to do with them but in the end, I made these pretty bracelets! They kind of remind me of playing cards because when the dealer fans out the playing cards they would do a flip and show the other side of all the cards? Well, that's what my tres chic bracelets can do. The hoops on the bracelet can lay flat in either direction or stand on their own, I guess sort of like fish scales :D

You can attach charms to the bracelets if you want or wear them simply as I did in the photos. Very Tiffany-ish. The bracelets close with a plated "S" hook with a butterfly design which makes it really secure so its good for long term wearing and I can make the length as needed. Just let me know if you prefer a different clasp.

The gold bird swings prettily on a matt gold branch and cloud pendant embellished with a mother of pearl carved flower and a 2mm blue swarovski crystal. I've attached a peridot swarovski crystal and a fresh water pearl as accents as well. I managed to find a matching matt gold plated chain that adds to the prettiness. Everything is about 80cm in length.

Bought some new sunstones in a diagonal square shape as I liked how my circular discs are turning out but I don't think I will be using them as earrings as I had the hardest time matching them!!! The stones are all very individually grained and all slightly different shades so I gave up after the first hour! But here's a pair I made in a milky white to be drooled over. I have a thing about filigrees and butterflies as you can tell. This is one of my absolute faves as well. I had to have these gorgeous silver plated filigrees when I saw them and wasn't sure if I needed to accent them as they are so pretty already. Decided to keep it simple first.

I like these swarovski facetted rondelles very much because they are very sparkly and catch the light really well. I made them into these clustered ball earrings because I thought the "sparkly-ness" reminded me a little of discoballs.

For lack of a better name, I decided on calling these earrings fireball and iceball. No prizes for guessing which one is which ;) Each earring has 12 sparkly rondelles so you get 24! 1 for every hour of the day LOL :D

I have these really pretty flower shaped freshwater pearls that are just perfect as earrings but thinking of them in a necklace as well. Very sweet and simple for work and play. I've had lots of compliments and they are very wearable. I can't get these pearls anymore so once sold out, they will be all gone. Earring hooks are 925 silver.

I spied these pretty caged birds and was wondering how to present them as earrings. I'm pretty happy at how they turned out and I hope you like them too. Unfortunately, you can't see the detail of the birds from the photos, will retake and update this post soon.

Gilded Cages Gold - The bird swung around too much in its cage so I balanced it with a pretty carved mother of pearl flower and matched it with a swarovski crystal and freshwater pearl - $12
